CAP research projects

At the Salazzurra Research Centre at Parco Idroscalo, the CAP Group carries out research and development projects and activities for the sustainable management of integrated water services, with a view to fostering the circular economy and protecting

The main strategic objectives concern:

  • Promotion of living labs and initiatives to communicate innovation in the water sector to the local community
  • Protection of resources through advanced risk assessments and circular environmental processes
  • Scouting for innovative technological solutions, implementation of research projects based on Open Innovation principles, development of industrial partnerships

The research projects are part of a broader approach that aims to reduce consumption, reuse water, recover nutrients and energy and rebuild the surrounding environment.

Gruppo CAP is investing in the future through targeted investments in research and innovation including:

  • Projects funded by calls for proposals (these are projects involving a consortium of partners and responding to European, national and regional calls for proposals)
  • CAP projects (self-financed projects by Gruppo CAP with potential positive impact)
  • Special projects (research projects in collaboration with other industrial partners)

Collaborations with research bodies, universities and institutions

Gruppo CAP's research and innovation activities benefit from close collaboration with research institutes and universities at national and European level, creating a network based on the sharing of expertise and skills between industry and academia. Projects with international partners play a key role, allowing us to acquire new skills and exchange experiences and best practices at European level.
