The CAP Group has obtained three loans totalling €270 million from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to support projects aimed at enhancing integrated water service management and promoting environmental sustainability in the Milan area.

The planned measures aim to improve rainwater management, strengthen the system's resilience to climate change and optimise purification processes to reduce energy consumption and sludge production, promoting digital innovation, operational efficiency and increasingly sustainable water resource management through safer and more efficient infrastructure.

The EIB is the EU's Climate Bank and one of the world's largest financiers of the water sector, with more than 1,770 projects and over €86 billion in financing provided since 1958. In particular, Italy has been the largest beneficiary of EIB resources dedicated to the water sector over the last 10 years, with operations financed for over €4.3 billion.
