The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Gruppo CAP have signed a new €100 million loan agreement to support Gruppo CAP’s 2025-2030 investment plan.  The agreement was announced by Jean-Christophe Laloux, Director-General, Head of EU Lending and Advisory Operations, and Yuri Santagostino, President of Gruppo CAP.

The agreement aims to support the modernisation of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure in the Metropolitan City of Milan and several provinces in Lombardy, benefiting 154 municipalities and more than 2.4 million inhabitants.

In particular, the resources made available by the EIB will help to support interventions aimed at increasing the reliability and resilience of the water network, reducing the risk of flooding from sewerage overflows, improving the quality and efficiency of wastewater collection and treatment services, and developing digital solutions to optimise the management of the integrated water service.
