Collaboration between the two utilities has been strengthened, with the aim of creating a management model for the urban hygiene service that improves efficiency and quality of services to citizens

After the go-ahead from the Shareholders' Meetings of CAP (on 3 October) and AMGA (on 7 October), the entry of Gruppo CAP into Aemme Linea Ambiente S.r.l. (ALA) has been officially ratified today  in the presence of CAP President Yuri Santagostino and AMGA President Pierluigi Arrara. The operation envisages an initial 20% stake which is to grow to 40% within three years through a capital increase linked to the achievement of 70% of the turnover targets set out in the industrial plan.

The operation is a concrete step in the realisation of the strategy shared by the two companies: to create an aggregator of companies operating in the urban hygiene sector; becoming the reference player in the sector in the North-West Milan area; improving operational efficiency, environmental sustainability and the quality of services provided to citizens.

ALA currently serves 19 municipalities with a total of 299,512 inhabitants and a turnover of €46,188,646.

This entry consolidates Gruppo CAP's positioning as a green utility capable of integrating water, waste and energy into a single industrial model. After having increased the number of plants managed with the revamping of purification plants through CAP Evolution, with interventions on the Busto Arsizio waste-to-energy plant through Neutalia and the new sludge treatment plant in Sesto San Giovanni through ZeroC, Gruppo CAP completes its journey by entering —  with ALA —  the domain of waste collection. This is a key piece in closing the circle of the circular economy and developing industrial synergies to support local territories and communities.

This operation, shared by the Shareholders and perfectly in line with the industrial and strategic developments of AMGA Group, will help not only to industrialising the processes, but also to producing significant growth and consolidation in the area. Thanks to the 25 years of experience in the urban hygiene sector of its subsidiary ALA, the AMGA Group — which reconfirms itself as a strategic partner for Municipalities—  was chosen by CAP for this industrial alliance, as proof of its operational reliability and shared ability to achieve ambitious goals, always with a view to serving the community.

From an economic and financial point of view, this acquisition confirms the progressive diversification of Gruppo CAP. While today revenues are largely derived from the Water Service, by 2030 the activities of the investee companies will account for almost a third of the total, with a growth of 86% compared to 2025. This trajectory clearly shows that with this strategy, Gruppo CAP aims to strengthen its role as an integrated green utility capable of combining the stability and reliability of its core water business with the development of high-potential complementary sectors such as waste treatment, bioenergy and the circular economy.
