Achieving adequate levels of security allows mitigating and counteracting loss and damage, as well as complying with the contractual and legislative framework in force

Gruppo CAP achieves another important milestone in the technological and organisational spheres and obtains ISO 27001 certification, the international standard for excellence in information security management.

Digitisation has always been one of Gruppo CAP's strategic pillars, as proven by the initiatives described in the 2024-2028 Business Plan and the 2023 Sustainability Report. Indeed, the company has invested in advanced technologies for water network monitoring and data protection, introducing predictive systems and smart meters; these are all protected by advanced cybersecurity techniques, which are necessary to cope with the growing cyberthreats also affecting the water sector.

The ISO 27001 certification is thus a further step in Gruppo CAP's journey towards state-of-the-art, secure and resilient digital management. In fact, the Lombard green utility has outlined a clear and well-structured strategy to implement an effective Information Security Management System that complies with recognised best practices. This includes the assignment of specific roles and responsibilities to both internal staff and external collaborators involved in key activities, providing a regular training and awareness programme for personnel; the constant monitoring of the security levels in the organisation, applying clear rules for the use of company information and tools; the continuous improvement and evolution of the system itself, based on a structured cycle of planning, execution, verification and action, with the aim of preventing and countering potential threats to the company's information assets.
