By treating water with respect and responsibility, we can lay the foundations for sustainable and responsible use of this vital resource. This concept led to the guide "From source to tap. Drinking water in everyday life” created by Gruppo CAP in collaboration with Altroconsumo. In fact, the manager of the water services of the metropolitan City of Milan has turned to Altroconsumo, an independent consumer organisation with numerous active protection and information activities, with a twofold objective: to highlight the value of tap water as a reliable and safe source of drinking water, while at the same time promoting sustainable practices to preserve and protect this vital resource.
A real pocket guide to inform consumers about the water cycle, the rigorous checks carried out every day to guarantee the safety and quality of this resource, and how to read water labels. The guide also dispels some false beliefs. An example? Limescale in water has always been considered harmful: not only does it not pose a direct threat to human health, but any possible link with the development of kidney stones has been ruled out.
This is why the Lombardy green utility is continuing its information campaign to promote the consumption of tap water: "Before you say NO, at least drink it!", launched on the occasion of World Water Day with the presentation of a study carried out by CSA Research for Gruppo CAP. This market research showed that although people support tap water, almost half of them only drink bottled water, which has a significant impact on the environment.
Once again with the help of Altroconsumo's experts, Gruppo CAP has produced two informative videos in which Desdemona Oliva, Gruppo CAP's Director of Research and Development, and Maria Giovanna Guiso, Project Manager of the company's Drinking Water Laboratories, take stock of the characteristics of tap water and reiterate its quality and safety.
Both the guide and the videos can be found on the landing page dedicated to the information campaign: https://www.gruppocap.it/it/bevidalrubinetto.
